Yesterday, Saturday, May 30, two NASA astronauts left for the International Space Station aboard the Space joined. This is the first flight to be carried out with an American ship, an American crew and from American soil.
As planned, the launch of Douglas Harley and Robert Behnken took place at 19:23 UTC time from the Kennedy Space Center, in Cape Canaveral, Florida (USA). Initially this mission was planned to depart on May 27, but bad weather forced it to be postponed for three days.
Two minutes after takeoff, the first stage of the Falcon 9 rocket separated, heading in a controlled manner towards the ground, landing perfectly as planned. In a second stage, the rocket was activated to take the two astronauts into orbit at supersonic speed. Twelve minutes after taking off, the Crew Dragon spacecraft separated from its second stage. They estimate that the trip to the Space Station could last about 19 hours.
